Wow crashed

So it has been a while. I have been really enjoying playing with my Hunter in World of Warcraft lately. I just hit 68 and was in Northrend when it happened. My wow client crashed to the desktop. I sent in the error report and tried to reload the client. It started to download the tools then went to the file optimization. That is not good....

So it has been an hour and a half now and it is still downloading the game client.

I am upset that I am missing some prime day off time, but no huge loss. I am playing with the beta 64 bit client so I knew it was possible for this to happen. Plus it gives me time to write this post.

I have been feeling like getting back into wargaming, but I am so disgusted with Games Workshop and their current ideology in releases. The new edition is coming in July and I just feel silly playing the old edition. Not that I think they will fix any of their gaps. They still have no idea what an attempt at balancing army books is and  never will. They don't even try to make a good tournament game. It is up to the community and those people usually argue too much.

Their release schedule is terrible in these days as well. A 5 year release schedule for books? That is a life time. Think about technology five years ago, that is how old the Eldar book is.Oh and they are still not up next on the block.

I just don't have the time or patience for a game system that doesn't cater to my needs as a gamer. Why should we still argue about intent and design of rules? Why do we need a game system that does not understand that people WILL break the rules if they can?

Their philosophy that people are just playing their games in their garages with friends is short sighted. Creating a tight rules system that is fun for the hardcore and fluffy gamer is possible. Besides, the fluffy gamer will probably just make their own rules anyways. Hell that is what Forgeworld is for anyways.

Lastly, I think their days are numbered with the advent of the 3D printer. Their prices are getting so ridiculous that printing a model is almost cost effective.

I still have not decided if I will keep my 40k stuff or not. I know I will wait until 6th edition to hit the best fever pitch of demand. I am sad to say that I think I have just moved past Warhammer as a game and the company has lost me. The best part about video gaming is that I can ignore the a hole on the other side of the game.
